Text 1: Alexandra Burke-The Silence
- Black and white very effective
- Well framed shots
- A lot of shots of the artist singing
- Very emotional facial expressions
- Lack of narrative yet replaced by various locations of artist singing and emphasis upon this
- Quick, sharp editing to coincide with music
Text 2: Leona Lewis-Happy
- Shots of the artist singing are actually in teh same place as where the parralel narrative occurs
- Well thought out, harrowing narative
- Glum tone contrats with happiness of wedding
- Ironic opening shot (happy face)
- Track is meaningful and easy to develop a narrative for
Text 3: Emilie Sande-My Kind of Love
- Extremely meaningful narrative which is very emotional
- Narrative ehavily relates to song
- Lovely balance of singing and narrative-something which I would like to replicate
- Separate setting for singing and narrative, highlights two sections and perhaps privacy of singing scenes
- Costume and setting very realistic and reflects time of year (winter)
- Glum time of year, adds to 'cold' situation, lonely
Text 4: Katy Perry-Firework
- Intresting use of shots, alot of close-ups gives a sense of how the characters situations are 'closing in'
- Follows three different narratives, giving different prospectives of the song
- Very upsetting topics which audience can relate to
- Sophisticated manner of dealing with issues
- Children used to evoke sympathy-innocence
- Darker lighting to reflect sad tone
I have took great inspiration from these texts and the way they develop meaning through language. However, in order to construct the most realistic outcome, I will research some other texts in more depth (some of which may have been identifierd here) and continue to search for inspiration.
